Seasons Greetings – with a Palace of thousand mirrows

The Palace of 1000 Mirrors (origin unknown)

In a distant village, there stood a magnificent building known as the Palace of 1000 Mirrors. Its tall doors and shining walls were said to reflect shapes and every little detail of anyone who entered.
One day, a sullen, unfriendly dog made its way toward the palace, moving slowly with its head lowered, torn between curiosity, skepticism and caution.
When the dog stepped into the grand hall, it froze in shock. All around a thousand dogs stared back.

Their faces looked tense, their teeth slightly bared, and their posture seemed cold and unwelcoming— mirroring exactly the expression the dog wore himself.
Frightened and upset, the dog growled and backed away. “This place is terrible,” it muttered. “I’ll never return.”
A while later, a cheerful dog with bright eyes and a happily wagging tail trotted up to the palace. It bounded into the hall with excitement and joy.
At once, it saw a thousand friendly dogs smiling back, their tails wagging as eagerly as its own. Filled with delight, the dog exclaimed, “What a wonderful place! I’ll come back often.”
